Faucet & Fixture Installation in Sun City West, AZ

Sun City West went up between 1978 and the 1990s, which puts every original fixture, valve, and heater in town at 30 to 45 years old, and decades of hard water have not been kind to any of them.

Sun City West homeowners call Liberty for faucet & fixture installation because we're local to the Valley, licensed, and answer the phone 24/7. Sun City West is Del Webb's second act, an unincorporated 55+ community out in the West Valley that started going up in 1978 and filled in through the '90s. That means the homes are now 30 to 45 years old, and the plumbing shows it. Original water heaters are long past their time, supply lines have aged, and the builder-grade shut-off valves have spent decades soaking in hard water. A lot of folks here are retired and many are snowbirds, so houses sit empty part of the year. We work clean, charge fair, and show you the real problem before we touch anything.

If your house went up in the first Del Webb wave off R.H. Johnson and you've still got the original water heater, you're living on borrowed time. A tank that old can let go any day, and on a slab-on-grade home the water has nowhere to go but across your floors. We'll check the age, the anode, and how it's venting, then tell you straight whether it's got life left or whether you're better off replacing it now on your terms instead of at 2 a.m. on a holiday. No scare tactics. Just the real condition and your options, laid out plain.

What we see on Sun City West plumbing

  • Original Del Webb-era water heaters well past their lifespan, especially in homes that still have the first one
  • Aging galvanized and copper supply lines scaled and corroded by years of hard water

Faucet & Fixture Installation in Sun City West, FAQ

My new faucet already drips, why?
Usually grit or scale in the cartridge from our hard water. We flush and reseat it, or replace the cartridge.
Can you install a fixture I bought?
Absolutely. We'll set anything you supply, and we'll flag it if it's not suited to our water.
My faucet drips constantly. Is it cheaper to repair or replace?
Usually a repair, if it's a quality brand. Most drips are a worn cartridge or a scaled aerator, and cartridges for Moen, Delta, Kohler, and Pfister are cheap and often warrantied for life. We only steer you toward a replacement when the faucet is a bargain-grade body where the parts cost more in labor than a new fixture.
Why do my faucets and showerheads keep clogging with white buildup?
That's hard-water scale, calcium and magnesium from Valley water at 16-20 grains per gallon. It builds up in aerators, showerheads, and cartridges. You can soak the removable parts in vinegar to dissolve it, but the long-term fix is a water softener, which keeps the scale from forming in the first place.
The shutoff valve under my sink won't turn. Is that normal?
It's common with older multi-turn stops. They seize up with mineral and corrosion and quit on you right when you need them. We recommend swapping them for quarter-turn ball valves during any faucet job, so the next repair is a quick local shutoff instead of killing water to the whole house.
Can you install a faucet I bought online?
Yes, we install customer-supplied fixtures. One honest caveat: real cheap online faucets often have plastic internals and proprietary parts that are tough to service later, so we'll point that out before we install. A brass-bodied unit from a major brand is the better long-term value.
What's a pressure-balancing shower valve and do I need one?
It's a valve that stops the sudden temperature swing when somebody flushes a toilet or runs water elsewhere, so you don't get scalded or hit with a cold blast. Modern code requires that protection. A step up is a thermostatic valve, which holds your exact set temperature even as household pressure moves around.
My house is an original Del Webb home. How do I know if my water heater needs replacing?
Age is the big one. Most tank heaters are good for 8 to 12 years, and if yours is the original from the '80s or early '90s, it's long overdue. We'll check the date, look at the anode and the tank base for rust, and see how it's venting. If it's still got some life, we'll say so. If it's done, we'll tell you that too and give you the real cost, no upselling.
