Tankless Water Heaters in Scottsdale, AZ

Scottsdale already owns more tankless units than almost anywhere we work, most of them in the newer North Scottsdale builds, and keeping them alive on this water is half our tankless business here. The other half is converting the older central neighborhoods.

Scottsdale homeowners call Liberty for tankless water heaters because we're local to the Valley, licensed, and answer the phone 24/7. North Scottsdale's newer luxury builds and the established central neighborhoods sit at opposite ends. High-end fixtures and tankless systems up north, aging copper and original water heaters in the older areas. Both need serious water treatment for our hardness. We know which is which and we work each accordingly. We'll show you the real problem, lay out your options, and quote it fair upfront before we start.

Scottsdale splits into two very different plumbing worlds, and we work both. Up in North Scottsdale, Grayhawk, DC Ranch, and Troon are higher-end 1990s-2000s homes where owners expect tankless water heaters, whole-home softening, and multiple reverse-osmosis points. The demand here is quality-of-water work: RO systems for drinking and ice, tankless installs and descaling, and softeners sized for big houses on Scottsdale's hard municipal supply. Scottsdale water runs hard enough that even premium tankless units need regular descaling, or the heat exchanger scales over and the unit starts throwing flow and ignition faults.

What we see on Scottsdale plumbing

  • High-end and tankless systems needing scale protection to survive
  • Aging copper in central Scottsdale homes (slab-leak risk)

How a Scottsdale tankless water heaters call goes

  1. Gas & venting check

Tankless needs adequate gas supply and sealed venting, we verify your line can feed it before quoting.

  2. Scale protection built in

We pair every install with a softener or an isolation/scale-filter kit so AZ minerals don't choke it.

  3. Annual descale plan

We set you up on a yearly flush so the warranty stays valid and flow stays full.

Tankless Water Heaters in Scottsdale, FAQ

Is tankless worth it in Arizona?
Yes, if you stay on top of the annual descaling. Our hard water will clog an unmaintained unit fast. Put a softener in front of it and it's a 20-year appliance.
Can my gas line handle it?
More often than not the existing line is undersized for a tankless burner. We measure it and upsize if it needs it, and that's part of the quote.
Do I really need a water softener with a tankless heater in Phoenix?
Pretty much, yes. Our 16-20 grain water scales the narrow heat exchanger fast, and unsoftened water can ruin a tankless unit in a couple of years. Soften the water and descale it yearly and a tankless will reach its long lifespan out here.
How often does a tankless need to be flushed?
About once a year in our hard water, and more often if you don't have a softener. Units with isolation valves make the descaling flush quick. If yours doesn't have them, adding them is worth the trouble.
Will a tankless give me unlimited hot water for the whole house?
It won't run out of hot water, but flow rate is the limit. Run two showers and a dishwasher at once and you can outrun a single unit, especially in winter when the incoming water comes in colder. Size it right for your peak demand and it works.
Why does converting from a tank to tankless cost more than I expected?
Gas tankless units usually need a bigger gas line and a new sealed vent, and electric models can mean a major panel upgrade. Those home-infrastructure changes, not the unit itself, are what drive the retrofit cost. We'll size all of it up front.
Does a tankless work as well in Flagstaff as in Phoenix?
It works, but the incoming water up north runs colder, so the unit has to raise the temperature further. That drops its effective flow rate. A unit sized right for Phoenix may need to be bigger to do the same job in the high country.
Do you service tankless and reverse-osmosis systems in North Scottsdale?
Yes. North Scottsdale neighborhoods like Grayhawk, DC Ranch, and Troon run heavy on tankless water heaters and RO systems, and we install, descale, and service both. Scottsdale's hard water means tankless units need periodic descaling to avoid heat-exchanger scaling and flow faults, and we handle that maintenance.
